1 Samuel 10:9
9 As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day.
Principle: Things like pride, disobedience, unforgiveness and fear harden your heart, and make it impossible for God to dwell in your heart.
Principle: Love can’t live where fear is. Humility can’t live where pride lives. Obedience and disobedience can’t live in the same heart.
Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Principle: Our new heart reflects the character of God.
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Psalm 119:11
11 They Word have I hidden in my heart so that I might not sin against thee.
Principle: We hide God’s word in our hearts by meditating on it.
Joshua 1:8
8 Keep this Book of Law always on your lips, meditating on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful
