Minister Kendy Ward provides a powerful word on the prayer life of a leader.

Matthew 23:11-12

11 The greatest among you must be a servant.  12  But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Matthew 20:28
28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Principle: Characteristics of a servant leader are humility, selflessness, obedience and being teachable.

Principle: A servant leader must have a disciplined prayer life.

Colossians 4:2
2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Thessalonians 5:17
Never stop praying.

Philippians 4:6
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Romans 8:26
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.


Jeremiah 29:12
12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.

James 5:16
16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

Matthew 26:41
Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!

Matthew 5:44

44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

Ephesians 6:18
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Principle: Prayer mandates you to be disciplined.

Principle: Surrender is necessary for intimacy with God.

1 Kings 3:7-9
“Now, LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.  8  Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number.  9  So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
