The Why Behind The Worship

Pastor Joshua begins a new sermon series on the value of Worshipping the King of Kings, not because we feel like it, but because He has given us the responsibility to do so.

Psalm 100:4 New International Version
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Isaiah 6:1–4 New International Version
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

Revelation 4:8-11 New Living Translation
8  Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.” 9  Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), 10  the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say, 11  “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

Principle: My practice of worship perfects my faith journey in Christ.

Principle: Worship is about Honor.

Principle: One of the GREATEST ways we HONOR God is through our WORSHIP.

Isaiah 55:12 New International Version
12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Luke 19:40 New International Version
40 I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.

Principle: Nature responds to the presence — or the absence — of worship.

Principle: We have to get a higher understanding of worship before we can go deeper in worship.

Psalm 33:8 New International Version
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him.

Psalm 22:27–28 New International Version
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.

Principle: Worship is the End Result.

Principle: Our worship is principle-based; it’s not emotion-based.

Psalm 34:1 New Living Translation
1 I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.

Principle: Worshiping God brings GOOD THINGS into your life.

Psalm 34:1 New Living Translation
1 I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.

Principle: Real Kings know how to Worship.

Principle: Worshipping and Honoring God matters more than looking dignified.
