Principle: One of Satan’s primary tactics is to get us to doubt or question what we have heard from God.
Matthew 24:35 NLT
35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
Principle: Reasoning is a way he gets us to not listen to God when He has spoken to us and given us a promise.
Principle: When you begin to reason or doubt what God has said ask yourself these questions:
- Does God lie?
- Does God get confused?
- Is what I’m thinking line up with what God has spoken to me and what
He has said in His word, the Bible, the Holy Scripture?
Principle: We must be able to hear Him through the chaos.
Principle: Take time and create a space to listen to God, hear what He is saying.
Principle: Spending time with God helps us to distinguish His voice from our own inner voice or the voice of the enemy, which can sound like doubt, fear, anxiety, or reason.
Ways That God Speaks to Us
- Through His Word
- Through His Prophets and/or the gift of prophecy
- Through Dreams
- Through Visions
- Through Symbols
- Audibly
How Do We Know It’s God Talking to Us
- Is it in the Bible?
- Is it His character?
- Does it sound like God?
What Happens When We Don’t Listen to What God is Saying?
- Delay
- Chaos
- Being Dead to the Things of God

- To give instructions
- To give warnings
- To bring good news
- To affirm us
- To fellowship with us
