Increased Covenantal Relationships Part 2

Apostle Duane Swilley and prominent members of the congregation share wisdom what the Lord revealed to them throughout the week their covenant relationships and things they will continue to take action towards to move into the relationships the Lord calls them into.

5 LEVELS OF CR

  1. God first- Learning to be one with him starting in the morning and setting your direction. No idols before him- Bible
  2. Covenantal Relationships- totally vulnerable and transparent. This chemistry will change who you are. Two become one- Bible
  3. Covenantal Relationships – Limited vulnerability and transparency – What is the reason? What are the boundaries? You are not one, but influence is definitely involved on both parties. Elijah and Elijah- Bible
  4. Covenantal Relationships – no vulnerability and limited transparency for the good of the disciple – You are there not to get approval, but to give biblical strategy to build strong character. Natural and spiritual children. The great commission- Bible
  5. Covenantal Relationship with God to touch the world – No vulnerability and No transparency- there to influence not to be influenced. Not making covenant with the world. God so loved the world- Bible

Principle: All five covenantal relationship levels are there to bring glory to God.

Principle: I am not starting with the negative, but if you stop all of the covenantal killers, growth in a healthy environment is natural if they’re in the right category.

Principle: Relationships founded only emotions will be turbulent at best and normally devastating.

John 3:6 New International Version

6 The Lord told Nicodemus unequivocally, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”

Revelation 10:2 New International Version

2 He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 6 And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, “There will be no more delay!

1 Corinthians 13:6-8 New International Version

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails…

Principle: But always telling the truth and love.

Principle: Truth and love are always connected in the Bible. You cannot love someone and not tell them the truth. And if you tell someone the truth without love, you risk offending them and blocking them from the truth..

Principle: You can get so comfortable in a relationship that you get sloppy with your values and beliefs.

Principle: Remember, you can make the Bible say whatever you want to say. Pray over your mind that the Holy Spirit will enlighten you to the Scriptures.

Revelation 22:18-19 New Living Translation

18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

Principle: Try to be led by the spirit and stay uncompromising to the orthodoxy of scripture. This will keep all of your relationships grounded.

Principle: If someone ask you not to have relationship with someone you’re in covenant with, run from them!

Principle: And comparing your relationships is great error. Each covenant relationship is unique in itself and is serving a purpose in your life that no other relationship can serve.

Principle: Look at the time Jesus invested in the disciples. That is our model. He lived it out in front of them.

What did you hear today that challenged you? What are you going to do about it?
