Pastor Joshua begins a new sermon series on how believers are meant to exemplify the persona of Christ by caring about those around them.

Matthew 25:35-40 New Living Translation
35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Principle: We have a responsibility to our world.

Matthew 25:40 New Living Translation
40…I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

1 John 4:19-21 New Living Translation
19 We love each other because he loved us first. 20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 21 And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow
believers.

Matthew 12:48-50 New Living Translation
48 Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 49 Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. 50 Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”

Acts 1:8 New Living Translation
8 …in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Principle: We have an immediate responsibility to believers, but we also have a dynamic responsibility to everyone else.

Matthew 20:28 New Living Translation
28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Principle: When we first come to faith we are served. The more we grow in faith faith we serve.

Principle: The devil wants to accuse and divide, Jesus wants to forgive and unite.

John 13:35 New Living Translation
35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Principle: His mission was grace and mercy, repentance and forgiveness.

Romans 12:18-20 New Living Translation
18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. 19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. 20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”
