John 14:27 New Living Translation
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the
peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or
afraid.
Principle: The gift is a Person!
John 14:25-26 New Living Translation
25 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. 26 But
when the Father sends The Advocate as my representative—that
is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you
of everything I have told you.
Don’t Grieve the Holy Spirit:
Ephesians 4:30 New International Version
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were
sealed for the day of redemption.
Principle: We have to learn to do things God’s way, if we want God
to stay.
1 Corinthians 3:16 New International Version
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that
God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
4 Things That Make the Holy Spirit Unwelcome
Lack of Repentance
Principle: Every time we repent, we apply the work of Jesus and we
reconcile our self to God and to His Holy Spirit.
Lack of Forgiveness
Matthew 6:14-15 New International Version
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Principle: If you don’t forgive others you disqualify yourself from the
forgiveness of God.
Wickedness
Psalm 5:4 New International Version
For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome.
The bible defines wickedness as a mental disregard for justice,
righteousness, truth, honor, virtue; evil in thought and life; depravity;
sinfulness; criminality…
Pride
James 4:6 New International Version
…“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
Principle: The Holy Spirit cannot cohabitate with, someone that is full of pride.
Principle: Pride always proceeds the wrong path.
Walk in Him:
Ezekiel 36:27 New International Version
27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
Principle: There is no way to fully understand the ways of God and
the things of God, without the Holy Spirit of God, living inside you.
Galatians 5:25 New International Version
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Principle: Sin causes separation. Repentance causes
reconciliation.
Live and Rest:
Psalm 91 New Living Translation
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
