Pastor Joshua talks about the faith that is needed to navigate environments of fear.
SERMON NOTES:
Matthew 8:23-27 – New International Version
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Get Into The Boat:
Principle: We’re all on a boat going somewhere.
Jesus Is In The Boat With You:
Principle: No matter what life looks like if you’re following Jesus, Jesus is in the boat with you.
Furious Storm:
Principle: The enemy is always creating scenarios that will cause debilitating fear.
Jesus was Sleeping:
Principle: The way of Jesus is contrary to the natural
Principle: If you want to be like Jesus, you can’t do what is natural. You have to do what is supernatural.
Principle: Kingdom people have Kingdom solutions.
Principle: We have to trust in God that nothing can take us out before our time.
Faith Check:
Principle: The storm is not the problem, your lack of faith is.
Principle: Faith is so much greater than any trial, any obstacle, any storm, any problem that we face in life.
