Guest speaker Minister Kendy Ward closes out the sermon series by diving deep into scripture to discuss how believers are meant to maintain self love.
Levels to Love:
- Love God
- Love your neighbor
- Love the world
- Love your brothers and sisters in Christ
Mark 12:30-31
30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ [a] 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ [b] No other commandment is greater than these.”
Principle: God wants us to love ourselves.
“Love your neighbor as yourself” is recorded in the Bible nine times in both the Old and New Testaments.
Leviticus 19:18
18 “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite but love your neighbor as
yourself. I am the Lord.
Leviticus 19:33-34

your neighbor as yourself.
Mark 12:29-31
29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ [a] 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ [b] No other commandment is greater than these.”
Luke 10:26-27
26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” 27 The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Galatians 5:14
For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
James 2:8

Meaning – as it were
Greek word for “as” – hos

Principle: We can only love our neighbor as ourselves only if we love ourselves, and we can only love ourselves when we love God and let Him love us.
Principle: Our mark is Jesus and the Word of God. We’re aiming to replicate Jesus and the Word of God.
Principle: We’re not made to be like anyone because we are already made to be like God.
Principle: We know our true selves when we know God.
Principle: We can only love ourselves when we know the One who is Love and receive the full expression of His love.
How do you love yourself?
- Get on the same page with God about who He says you are and who He created you to be
by spending time in His word, studying scriptures that tell you who God says you are. - Demolish the barricade around your heart and allow God to fully love you. Your heart is
safe with God.
